Of the extensive coastline, 35 miles of Pinellas County is of entirely white sand beaches. A collection of nearly 20 beaches maintained by the state, county and various municipalities are designated by visitors as some of the best around. The near white sand color adds to the clarity of the water off the coasts of the beaches, maximizing visibility.

Three of the top ten beaches in the nation are located in Pinellas County. They include Fort De Soto Park Clearwater Beach and Caladesi Island State Park. Spanning the entire length of the county, these three beaches offer a variety of features, scenery and environments. They all do have one thing in common, however; they offer spectacular sun and sand for beachgoers and with sunny weather 95% of the year.

The county averages 361 days of sunny weather each year, maximizing your time to spend at some these amazing beaches. The weather in Pinellas County makes the region a top destination any time of the year to enjoy boating, jet skiing, fishing, parasailing and anything else you could imagine enjoying in the tropical Florida weather.  

But beautiful Pinellas County is so much more than just fun in the sun. The region boasts extensive culture and arts. Some of the museums throughout the county include the Fort De Soto Quartermaster Storehouse Museum, the Gulf Beaches Historical Museum, Heritage Village and the North Pinellas Historical Museum.

At our multiple museums and institutions you can take in an entire day of learning about the history and culture of our gorgeous Gulf coast span of land. And don’t forget about the Brooker Creek Preserve Environmental Ed. Center and Weedon Island Cultural & Natural History Center. There are also hundreds of excellent restaurants to grab a bite when you need to take it all in.

The nearly 20 million visitors to Pinellas County annually can’t be wrong.
